If you’ve experienced a change/symptom in breast tissue that needs to be investigated, or an abnormality is found on a routine mammogram, the next step is breast assessment and diagnosis.
Most abnormalities are harmless changes in breast tissue, however we will need to collect more information to know if it’s something more serious.
What happens during a breast assessment depends on previous tests, your medical history and your current symptoms. Assessment could include another mammogram, focused views on a mammogram, breast ultrasound, breast MRI and/or breast biopsy.
Waiting for results can be stressful. We do our best to ensure that you and your healthcare provider receive results as soon as possible, while also taking the time and care needed to ensure your results are accurate.
